Happy New Year

That time of the year is here again, time when resolutions cover our diaries both written and unwritten. We celebrate the successes of the passing year and try hard to whitewash the failings of the past and uncertainties of the future with well garnished resolutions. For the most part our resolutions are not able to abide the waves of realities, they are washed away sooner than we imagined, often with no traces left. King George VI in his 1939 Christmas message quoted these powerful words, ‘And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year “give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown” And he replied: “Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than the light and safer than a known way.” That is my word of encouragement to you dear friend. Strike a living partnership with Christ and you’ll find his loving embrace more rewarding than your most sincere resolutions. Happy New Year!

  1. Very powerful! God bless you for sharing. May we have a living resolution with an astute determination and not a mere well wishing.
